Dr. John A. Bailey was elected President of the National School Plant Management Association (NSPMA) at its 20th annual conference held at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, February 22-25, 2015. Dr. Bailey is the Director of School Plants for Chesapeake Public Schools, Chesapeake, Virginia. John has been in his current role with Chesapeake Schools for three years and brings considerable knowledge and expertise to the school plant management and operation.
Dr. Bailey also brings his academic experience and administrative skills to the table as well, having previously served as a high school principal for seven years prior to his current responsibilities. “My vision for the future of the NSPMA is to help continue to grow the organization by increasing state membership across the country, increase collaboration, unity, and professional development between the school plant managers around the county, and to support a world-class annual National Conference of School Plant Management, to be held in Virginia Beach in 2016”.
Dr. Bailey also serves on the Virginia School Plant Managers Association (VSPMA) Board as the Region III Director. “The VSPMA is considered one of the top organizations in the country in regards to how School Plant Management officials work together to provide learning environments conducive to a quality education”. Dr. Bailey will continue to serve on the VSPMA during his tenure as NSPMA President.
