UPDATE! - The 2020 13th ANNUAL CONFERENCE HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED!

"The VSPMA would like to thank all of its members and vendor supporters for continuing to promote K-12 facility best practices during these most difficult and unprecedented times. Due to numerous uncertainties in the coming days, weeks and months ahead we have decided to reschedule our annual conference for October 17 - 20 of 2021 at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Center. Again, we thank you for your continued support and dedication and we look forward to things returning to some normalcy in the near future. Cannot wait to see all of you again at the annual VSPMA Conference in 2021!"

The Virginia School Plant Management Association is pleased to announce that two Virginia Facility Directors and VSPMA Board members recently received National Award recognition at the National School Plant Management Associations annual conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Rick Walters, NSPMA President, VSPMA past president and retired Director of Operations in King William County Public Schools received the Pat Cochrane Memorial Award. This award distinction states, " . . . Each year this award is given to someone in the association who exhibits leadership skills, passion and a vision for the k-12 facilities in America."

Keith Webb, VSPMA Treasurer and Executive Director of Plant Services in Newport News Public Schools received the National School Plant Manager of the Year Award. Within the application this award requires, "Supporting Evidence of Exemplary Contributions to the school plant profession, special accomplishments or programs implemented and school/community/local involvement and volunteerism."

The mission of the Virginia School Plant Management Association shall be to support and enhance the instructional process through diligent attention to the educational environment, promotion of continuing education of the educational facilities professionals, and the exchange of information among members to improve school plant management, maintenance, housekeeping, energy management, and environmental control, The Virginia School Plant Management Association will serve as a vehicle to promote educational facilities improvements within our school divisions, and the Virginia Department of Education.
