The Virginia School Plant Management Association supports school facility professionals and K-12 educational environments.
Vision:
The Virginia School Plant Management Association is a vehicle for collaboration between school facility professionals to create optimal student learning environments.

 

STRATEGIC GOALSTRATEGIC OBJECTIVESACTION PLANS
I. Promote the continuing education of school facility professionals1. Become a resource for formal training
a. Identify formal training certification opportunities
b. Develop a VSPMA Training Program
2. Provide educational forums for US K-12 professionalsa. Convene VSPMA Annual conference
b. New Mid-year Leadership Conference
c. Regional Meetings
II. Strengthen the exchange of information between school facility professionals1. Communicate VSPMA events, training, new mandates, industry trends, etc.a. Post PowerPoints and Presentations from Lunch and Learns, Conferences, etc. on VSPMA website
b. VSPMA Newsletter
2. Collaborate with VDOEa. Invite VDOE CTE staff member to VSMPA sponsored events (CTE)
b. Invite VDOE Facilities staff member to VSPMA sponsored events
III. Promote understanding of industry trends through business sponsors1. Facilitate exchange of information between school facility professionals and facility-oriented vendorsa. Invite vendors to participate in regional meetings, board meetings and conferences
b. Identify Diamond Sponsors and their services on the VSPMA website
IV. Assist school divisions in complying with local, state, and federal facility oriented mandates1. Disseminate information on new mandates and provide guidancea. Draft clarifying directives where appropriate
2. Provide assistance in understanding all (new and existing) mandates and directivesa. Include discussions on existing and new mandates and possible solutions at VSPMA events
V. Effective management of VSPMA1. Maintain financial solvencya. Retain and increase VSPMA membership
b. Earmark vendor/contributor dues to fund VSPMA student scholarships
2. Maintain currency of By-Lawsa. Annual review and implement
3. Establish Strategic Plana. Review progress monthly
b. Review Action Plans, Performance Measures and KPIs
c. Review Strategic Plan every five years
