Welcome Message from Dr. Stacey Timmons

President, Virginia School Plant Management Association (VSPMA)

Dr. Stacey Timmons, President, Virginia School Plant Management Association (VSPMA)Welcome to the Virginia School Plant Management Association (VSPMA)! Our mission is to support public school facility professionals and K-12 educational environments in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We serve as the vehicle for promoting education facility improvements within our school divisions and with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). Within the Commonwealth, there 133 School Divisions organized into 8 Regions comprised of 1,860 local schools, 155 local centers, and 91 regional centers. The VSPMA Board is comprised of elected representatives from each of the 8 regions as well as 2 members-at-large and headed by an Executive Committee.

As President, I am proud to represent the dedicated professionals who work behind the scenes every day to ensure our schools remain safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and communities. School plant managers are essential to the success of our educational system—supporting learning by maintaining the spaces where it happens.

Our association exists to provide a strong network for school facility professionals—offering opportunities for professional development, sharing best practices, and staying ahead of changes in building standards, sustainability, safety, and operations.

The highlight of every year is the Annual Conference and Trade Show drawing attendees from across the Commonwealth as well as nation-wide vendors serving educational facility professionals. The Conference features guest speakers and learning sessions addressing relevant facility issues.

The VSPMA is more than just a source of information; it’s a place for connection. Whether you’re looking for training resources, updates on industry regulations, or a chance to engage with fellow plant managers, we’re here to support you.

Thank you for the important work you do every day. Together, we can raise the standard of school facility management and create better environments for learning and growth.

With appreciation,
Stacey L. Timmons Ed.D.
